Iowa Congressional, Legislative and Political Party Information

In addition to the Governor’s race and the U.S. Senate race, Iowa has five Congressional House races, 100 Iowa House races, and 25 Iowa Senate races.  Both political parties have party platforms that include statements and recommendations on many child and family issues.

Each major party Iowa Congressional candidate has a website that includes an issue section where the candidate outlines his or her views on different policy issues.  A number of these issues relate to child and family policy issues. Basic contact information for each major party candidate is shown below, with direct links to sections that contain any issue statements on the candidate’s website on child and family issues.  These links were last updated October 8, 2010.

In addition, the Des Moines Register asked the primary election candidates to answer questions on many issues, and the links to that survey are provided below.
